ad on politics

http://www.buzzfeed.com/prernal/most-racist-political-campaign-ads-2010-s6q
What i found the most intresting over this ad was about how racist they were being in all vedios. Especially the second Tim James talking about the drivers license test and how it should only be in englishand not in 12 other languages and they should vote for him for that reason. I find that bad in a way. Im sure the latinos vote also count.

Teacher's Interview

Teachers should receive merit pay at the end of the year separately from their actually pay. Mrs. Logan’s mission statement is to provide top instruction for all students and a safe environment using various styles of teaching so that all types of learners can follow along and learn. She also feels that learning isn’t about the teachers but the students. Teachers fell that interactive learning is the best certified to teach their subject, eventually every teacher should be certified but as of now the real learning that teachers do is with their students in class. Standardized testing is a good way to figure out how students are doing, you should tell your students to take it serious even if it doesn’t go on your grade. Teacher unions are good for battling their pay. Their support systems are the teachers and peers that they work around. Students should be dropped after a period of a month or more. Mrs. Logan sees herself at the top of the edge because she has good report from students that she’s helped out in the past.

Reflection (sb 1070)

So to start off with this reflection I personally feel that this was a very personal topic to discuss about. Many people got very defensive and bothered by what others had to say but I mean it was just a discussion so it shouldn’t really mean much. Many people had good points and made good arguments, others just kind of agreed, some of the things that I remember that were brought up at the very beginning were just stories that they knew of either their family members or stories that they’ve heard about. Most people were stuck on the fact that the citizenship process should be easier and it was ridiculous stuff that they ask and many of us don’t even know the answer too. So how do they expect illegal immigrants to know them? In other words some illegal immigrants do wait till the end to do all of this and when they get caught they either say that they were about to apply for the citizenship but it’s too late then. We discussed how long the process took to actually be eligible to apply for a citizenship and I was told by a former family member that has gone through this that you must be a permanent resident for 5 yrs or married to a citizen for 3yrs. That’s a very long time and many people are lucky enough to find someone that’s willing them to marry them in order to help them out but that’s also not the best thing you could do. There’s very ignorant people that get pregnant when knowing that their illegal immigrants and have their baby here in the united states to jus t be able to call their babies Americans and themselves but they don’t seem to understand that they will still be deported. Overall as I said in the beginning this probably wasn’t the best topic to speak about, it just felt too personal and it was based on a certain race and some didn’t enjoy this. People weren’t sure what they could or couldn’t say because of how others would respond.

Arizona immigration reform

I’m against the immigration law for many different reasons ; to start off i feel like everyone is making such a big deal about it, Just a few months ago no one even argued or acknowledge it.Its all going to far and their just being racist. Americans complain about the fact that immigrants are taking the jobs away form them but in reality the jobs that they are working Americans wouldn't ever consider working at, so therefore they should stop complaining an go do something with their lives.

Class Discussion Reflection

The class discussion we had a couple days ago really changed my opinion in many ways. Some of the things I would have liked to base my opinion on were when Danny brought up the fact that we can’t judge every Muslim just because one person chose to do that one dumb thing. I actually look at it differently, for example maybe they are actually trying to change themselves and show others that their not so bad. But they should also consider building their mosque somewhere else. I understand that the space is vacant and has been for quit some while and no one else can figure out what to build, but that’s not any reason at all to insist on building the mosque exactly right there or even a couple blocks away. I still feel that its disrespectful and if they actually are trying to start off fresh with everyone one way would be to respect others opinion on how not to build it there. Someone else brought up the fact that the area where they want this building to be built at was near strip clubs, which men would attend them and go to the church confess and do it again and that’s not teaching anyone good morals. That’s very true and I believe it would end up happening some day. Another point that many were bringing up was how we judge each other so much that it’s ridiculous. You can’t possibly look at someone and determine whether or not their guilty or their up to something. You have to give everyone a chance for them to introduce themselves and take the time to meet them and look at things and life from their point of view. The last thing that caught my attention was how people were bringing up that were in a county where we have freedom of speech and many people come to America to actually be heard and to be helped out by others, their maybe not going about the situation as well as they could but there trying and their thoughts and actions are out there.
